Welcome to the SpriteSpot.com Wiki!

So--what the heck is a 'wiki'?

According to Wikipedia (probably the best known wiki on the web) a wiki is software that allows users to create, edit, and link web pages easily. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites.

Another definition is an online encyclopedia that anyone can edit.

Well--what's this got to do with SpriteSpot.com?

For a while, we've been considering ways to augment SpriteSpot.com. Our forums are great--they can get anyone the answer to virtually any question in just a day or so. But for casual browsing and retrieving information, specific answers can sometimes be hard to find.

Enter the wiki--designed for ease of information retrieval, our wiki will allow anyone interested in Sprites and Midgets to casually browse and read about the cars we know and love. Each page in our wiki will be written and edited by our users--that means that anyone can contribute (be it original content, or adding to information that's already there). All it takes is a bit of time, and a desire to contribute. Best of all, because anyone can edit any page, over time a wiki becomes a very accurate storehouse of information--just what would help both new and 'seasoned' Spridget fans.

What do I do to get started?

Easy--just type something in the 'search' box on the left (or click one of the links in the menu on the left)--if you find what you're looking for you're on your way! If not, you'll typically get a message saying something like "Hey--this page doesn't exist! You can create this page!"--and please--go ahead and create the page--write down what you know (or what you'd like to know) and the next person will be able to help and edit that content.

If you find some information you'd like to add to an existing page, just click the 'edit' hyperlink on the right side of the page--and you'll be able to easily edit the content! That's it!

What else do I need to know?

It'd be nice if you'd register (just click the create an account link and you'll be set). Also, as we grow our wiki we'll add more functionality (like being able to add photos). Stay tuned! (And if you have some suggestions, please feel free to email me at dan@spritespot.com or post them in our Suggestions Forum.

And (as always) thanks for supporting SpriteSpot.com!
