Question on lower A- frame spring base

Postby Alans 66 Sprite » Wed Dec 24, 2014 5:20 pm

Getting around to seeing just what I have I noticed one of the A-frames is damaged. I have looked at photos of new ones and seen some on this site. They all look like they have a boss or some protrusion at either side at the bottom of the Kingpin . It looks like there is a threaded stud that goes through it front to back to hold the Kingpin. As I look at mine there seems to be no such boss. It looks like the threaded stud is just almost flush with the outside edge of the A-frame .
I would post a picture but dont know how. Just wondering if the ones I see at the parts site are a later idea that works better.

The Victoria British catalog lists only one A-arm for all Sprites and Midgets.

Compare the left and right A-arms on your car. Are they the same, or different ?
