Hi, guys its me again can anyone tell me how the rev counter works done a rewire and followed the diagram with the white wire looping around the back of the rev counter and going to the coil the needle flickers a little bit the car was a none runner when i bought it so purchsed another rev counter but thats the same just flickers a bit. The wire to the tachometer might be picking-up some high voltage radiation from the spark plug wires and/or coil.
1. Shield the tachometer wire (not easy).
2. Route the tach wire away from any high voltage wire.
3. Use a resistive high voltage wire from the coil to the distributor.

If the coil has a plastic body, this might be part of the problem.
