steering wheel blinker return bolt

Postby ube428 » Sun Nov 07, 2010 12:27 pm

I have a MKII Midget. Does anyone know what the bolt size is and shape of the head for the steering wheel blinker return bolt is? The bolt is on steering shaft. I can't find the correct one to bring the blinker arm back to neutral position. Thanks for the help again.

It was a grub screw, I am nor sure of the size but I think it was 1/4"
Try a 1/4 x 28 and a 1/4 x 20 bolt to see which one screws in, then just cut or grind off the head.
the original was sort of a screw driver blade shape with a slight curve to the threads. You can make something close with a round file or on the grinder wheel.
It isn't that critticle but the length is, the screw stuck out about 3/8" from the shaft.
Please, I am trying to do this from memory so test everything first. I do not want to take apart the column cover to check the exact size but I did make one of these for my 67.
