E-Brake

Postby Charlie Tolman » Thu Jan 19, 2017 1:52 am

A friend has a 1965 Sprite, and it has a problem. Here is a quote from his e-mail:

Anyway, I got the diff (differential gear assembly) out and then saw why the brakes were stuck on. Something, I don't know what, really bad happened to the emergency brake cable. It almost looks like it tried to wrap itself around the drive-shaft.

Anyone have a similar problem, or advice on preventing this situation ? Thanks.

Hello Charly,

I've never heard about such a problem.
The only possibility I think must be a very loose (baggy) brake cable.
So this might have flung arround the drive shaft or just has hooked into.
But this he must have noticed aas the E-Brake would brake.
