Got parts to sell, buy or trade?

Oil Sump screen WTB

Postby Jim Duffey » Mon Feb 22, 2010 8:03 pm

I am interested in purchasing a good oil sump for my 948. Are they the same in other motors? I have completely rebuilt this engine so am in need of a good part. Can my original one be cleaned/re-used? Thanks in advance.

If you are refering to the screened oil strainer, 948, 1098, and 1275 engines use the same part.
I am not sure about the 1275 engine, but the oil suction pipe is different for the 948 and 1098 engines.
If the old strainer is in good condition, with no holes in the screen, and the flat "washer" at its bottom if firmly attached to the screen, then clean it and reuse it.

New screened oil strainers are available.
