lubricating tach drive

lubricating tach drive

Postby tadavis1 » Tue Sep 17, 2013 12:47 am

Hi all -

The mechanical tach drive coming off the back of my generator has come apart. What is the best grease/lubricant to put on the little gears? I'm guessing regular hub/axle grease. That looks like what might be in there now. Thanks for your help.

I'd GUESS some type of white lithium grease.

Thanks for the reply. A guy at a car parts place said lithium grease, but I wasn't sure. I'll see what other replies I get and maybe try that. Thanks again.
