Voltage Stabilizer Connections

Postby Rod H » Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:29 am

I have installed a new (for negative earth cars) Voltage Stabilizer to use with my MGB temp gauge in my Bugeye. I am getting no reading (needle movement) from the temp gauge now. The connection into the stabilizer reads 12.49 volts the connection out reads 9.47 volts, the MGB schematic I looked at shows a ground coming off the Stabilizer, I made the assumption that the case is the ground. The temp gauge was working prior to the installation of this thing it just fluctuated a lot, any thoughts :?:

There is an orientation that the stabilizer is mounted. If it is mounted upside down it will not work. You are correct that the original stabilizer was grounded through the housing. The I terminal is the insturments. The B terminal is the Battery terminal and the Housing should have a copper jumper that comes from the rivit that holds it togeather to the E terminal.

Hope this helps
