mount question on a '76 Midget

Postby Con Tiki1 » Tue Sep 20, 2011 10:10 am

I'm new, and wasn't sure which section to post this, so I apologize for the clutter...
After owning a Triumph for 20 years, I came to my senses and bought an MG.
I've got it mostly sorted, thanks to the local club and a really beat copy of the Bently manual. The one thing I can't get an answer to, is whether or not it's possible to change the rear motor/gearbox mounts without pulling the whole set-up.
Been staring at it for a couple days, and it looks impossible. Even called Moss tech, and they couldn't tell me. Has anyone here managed it?
Thanks.

I believe you are referring to the transmission mounts. You will need to pull the motor and transmission to replace those mounts.

Crap.
I think we're talking about the same mounts. I was hoping there was a trick to get them out, but guess not.
Thanks for the reply.
