Rivergate Conversion

Postby SimonChoong » Mon Sep 14, 2009 4:55 pm

Hi all bugster;

I'm in the mist of planning a 948cc 5 speed conversion for the aged transmission.

As I stay in Singapore, with near 0% chances of finding a B310 transmission. I found 1 used 5 speed in Malaysia that comes with guarantee. While I not a very mechanical person, what are checks can I ask the seller before I commit to the purchase? I'm also presuming that it has a horizontal drain since it is a asia make.

The cost of this trans is about 110USD in this part of the world. So it is Rivergate that is gona be expensive to undertake.

Thanks.

The transmission is the hard part to find, and $110 is a good price. You can also still get parts to rebuild that tranny (and the shop manual is online) so I'd say it's worth the investment.

The Rivergate has a good reputation here...lots of folks using them successfully....
