quantom mechanics transmission

Postby Jim Duffey » Thu Jul 09, 2009 9:38 pm

Dear posters,

I am new to this site. Thank you for all you do to help us new to AH Sprites. I am restoring a AN 5 which was boxed up back early in the 80's. I know, I know...good move, bad move. I want the original look so want a smooth case. www.quantomechanics.com offers a smooth case with 1275 gears. Does anyone have experience with this process or this company? If so, please advise.

Many thanks.

Try: www.quantumechanics.com

An old physicist should know his quantum mechanics.

That's my thinking too Charlie, and thanks for the correction. I am so excited today as my newly purchased bonnet arrives from Rhode Island. Finally, I can get this car finished and enjoy it.

I have a smooth-cased transmission in the garage, but have never used it. Some say that the newer rib-cased transmissions are easier to shift, replacement parts are easier to find, and the transmission ratios are better suited to general driving.

If you do a 'search', enter "smooth" in the box at the upper right corner of this forum. You will find many interesting comments about the conversion, and at least one comment about Quantum Mechanics.

I am currently selling a SC/CR Ribcase that has Quantum Mechanics internals. They are great to work with and really know their stuff.
