Toyota tranny on a 1500

Can it be done... I want as stock as possible but the five-speed would be great. I hve a corolla 5-sp just sitting here. Can I make it fit?

Look here:

I don't know whether it will fit in a Midget transmission tunnel without modification.

(Prices are in NZ dollars, so it's not quite as expensive as it sounds.)

Link goes nowhere

I read what I could on this conversion in NZ but the company link doesn't work
They produce a new bell housing so the stock Toyota clutch, etc is used.

I found another guy who built his own adapter plate, similar to Rivergate... how about a combination of the two.
Use the 1500 bell housing and clutch... but build an adapter to mate tranny to back end of bell housing.
I'm not a mechanic - what's the problem here? Seems an easier place to mate the two than trying to build a new engine plate and fit bigger clutch to the old flywheel.
