The dash was black but come to find that the dash was painted black!! The R-E-D hand printed on the back of the dash means it was red from the factory so red it will be. (from this photo you can see that is was red)

Come to find that the seat, as well, were painted black! But red from the factory. Not sure if the piping was red or black yet but I'm guessing black or white.
UPDATE: The piping was indeed black so the seats will be red with black piping.

Here you can see the black/red fleck carpet on the lower portion of the seat. I pealed back a bit of the vinyl to expose the protected fleck carpet. It might be hard to find some of that I think but I believe that I can get red carpet and use black die to fleck it (?).

If you look close you can see it says BLACK on the center console area meaning that the center and inside footwell panels were covered in black. The outer footwell panels are red.

Dash and Wheel. I have the key not only for the ignition but for the trunk (boot) handle as well!
Here you see that the dash and crash rail were painted black but both should be, and were, red.

Here a good shot of the guages, switchs, steering wheel and, oh yes, the engine!

Carpet on the trans tunnel was not factory. Should be rubber matting. This MKI had black with red fleck when new.

Another shot of carpet on tunnel along with the very bad "looking" 948. The crank in the picture is for the 1275 that also came with the Midget. Believe it or not, it's brand new. The discoloration on the journals is not rust but the protective coating. There is also a header sitting along side of that.

In this photo you can see the floor matting and the carpet on the back of the seat, this is correct. Note the carpet on the floor. There was more carpet on the floor and footwell. This should have rubber matting, not carpet. The black pocket is correct along with the red inner door. The dash and crash rail were painted black by the previous owner but were/are and will be red!
